How are you on this lovely Wednesday? I have been battling quite the cold this week and as a result have taken a mini-hiatus from the gym and exercise in general. I thought maaaaybeeee I would be feeling up to par today for a Burn Boot Camp class with my friend Holly, but when I woke up and my head felt as heavy as a bowling ball and I was coughing up a storm, I knew rest and relaxation was just what my body needed.
As anxious as I am to get back to feeling 100% myself again, all of the extra down time has been a blessing in disguise because it has allowed me a chance to tackle my first freelance project. Woop!
Freelance writing had been a goal of mine for a few months now but seemed a little far fetched without any experience or idea on how to pitch myself or work with clients. I’ve always enjoyed writing, but it wasn’t until I recently started blogging regularly for it to sink in that I actually love writing. When my cousin-in-law shared on Facebook that someone she knew was seeking contributors for a small fitness and nutrition website, I shot her an email with my resume, not really expecting anything to come of it. Well… a day later I found out I got the gig! I am so excited for this opportunity and think it will be a great side job for the time being! Now on to today’s post!
Before the plague hit, I had stocked up on some items at Trader Joe’s, one of my favorite places (after Wegman’s!) to grocery shop. The first time I went into a Trader Joe’s I remember feeling insanely overwhelmed yet completely mesmerized by all the unique products they carry. COOKIE BUTTER ice cream?! What! I had never heard of such a thing. I remember wishing I had done a little research beforehand to see what the creme de la creme at TJ’s is! If you are looking for some top grocery picks for your next Trader Joe’s haul, I welcome you to check out some of the items I’ve listed below.
- Steelcut Oatmeal
- Organic Tomato & Roasted Red Pepper Soup
- Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels
- Reduced-Guilt Mac & Cheese
- PB & J Bars
- Organic Vodka Sauce
And now on to my secondary list of “Items I Didn’t Pick up… but Still Make the Cut!”
- Reduced Guilt Guacamole (Addicting! I could easily eat the whole container in one sitting.)
- Speculoos Cookie Butter
- Mashed Cauliflower (This may have been a seasonal item back in the fall. I couldn’t seem to find it this round but it is DELICIOUS.)
- Orange Chicken
- Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
- Cinnamon Sugar Grinder
- Asparagus Risotto
- BBQ Chicken Pizza
- Coconut Pancake Mix
- Balsamic Glaze
- Quinoa & Black Bean Chips
- Sesame Ginger Salad Dressing
And there you have it! I hope this list is of assistance next time you find yourself glossy-eyed in TJ’s! 😉
