Hey there! I hope you had a great weekend and are easing into the work week feeling rested and refreshed thanks to that extra hour of daylight.
I have a great leg workout to share with you, but thought I’d start things off with a quick recap of the weekend.
Friday night was low-key and relaxing – just the way I like it! Kevin and I split of bottle of wine and watched the movie Spotlight on Netflix.
I really enjoyed it, despite the whole premise of the movie being on the heart-wrenching topic of the sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. The movie held my interest for the full 2+ hours, which is a proud accomplishment considering I usually fall asleep within the first twenty minutes of just about anything. Quite the talent I got there. 🙂
Saturday was filled with chores around my apartment, grocery shopping, and a gym session for a core and cardio workout.
Later that night, I got together with my friend Molly for a girls night in. We stopped by Chipotle for take-out (burrito bowl for her, tacos for me!) then headed back to my apartment to mix up some margaritas and homemade queso. I’m a sucker for any sort of Mexican food… it just never gets old. And pizza. Can’t forget about the pizza.
It was a great night catching up and we made plans to go to a Barre-to-Brunch event at her gym on the 20th. I’ve been dying to try barre! It combines pilates, body weight and strength conditioning with some yoga and ballet moves to give you elongated, sculpted, lean muscles. Yes, please!
Kevin and I headed out to Honeoye Falls, a town about 25 minutes away, to check out a brewery recommended by two of our friends.
We bought our tasting cards which then allowed us each six samples to try. The brewers were so knowledgeable and passionate about their beer that when I asked the difference between two stouts, they kindly let me try them for free!
I really loved the Harvest Jack Pumpkin Ale and decided to buy a six-pack to bring home. The description said this ale was an “autumn orange, full bodied beer, complemented perfectly by a hint of seasonal spices including cinnamon, ginger, coriander and vanilla.” I definitely tasted the cinnamon and I think that is what ultimately screamed “FALL!” to me and my taste buds. Looks like I found my new favorite seasonal brew!
It was truly a perfect Sunday! Beer, fall foliage, unseasonably sunny and warm weather, and my favorite person… What could be better. 🙂
On to the workout!
I wanted to share with you a great leg and glutes workout I tackled yesterday. My muscles are feeeeeelin’ it today!
I planned to wrap up with 10 minute intervals on the StairMaster, but come to find out our gym’s cardio section is actually under construction. Bummer!
Good news is brand spankin’ new equipment will be heading our way soon!
That will conclude today’s blog post. I hope you all have a great week!
