Hey, hey, hey! How was your weekend?
I spent my Friday night hanging at Kevin’s while we watched the Sabres vs. Capitals game on TV and whipped up some cheese and pepperoni naan pizzas to snack on. It was a low-key and relaxing Friday, just the way I like it!
Saturday morning I got a early start on baking some treats and then headed over to my friend Holly’s around noon for a get-together with her future bridesmaids! It was so great to see everyone and such a fun day filled with lots of laughs, wine and food. 🙂
Yesterday morning I met my soon-to-be manager for coffee to complete my initial paperwork for my new position. The on-boarding was such a unique experience and focused a lot on personal development, goal setting, and where you envision yourself 1, 5 and 10 years from now. Not what I was expecting by any means, but loved every second. I am so excited to be a part of the Lululemon team here in Rochester!
Kevin and I also had a chance to go out and catch a movie yesterday – easily one of my favorite things to do on a snowy and cold afternoon. 🙂 We ended up seeing Nocturnal Animals, the thriller that is out staring Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams. Besides the bizarre opening credit scene, I surprisingly enjoyed how dark and gripping this movie was. I didn’t want it to end!
Since I have found myself falling into a bit of a cardio rut, I took a few minutes this morning to write out a treadmill interval workout to tackle before hitting the weights.
Entering the gym with a plan has been so helpful in keeping myself motivated and making my workouts more time efficient. If I am able to get in a workout on the weekends, I tend to just walk in with a “let’s wing it” attitude, but during the week I definitely prefer having a more structured plan to follow!
This treadmill workout, although just 20 minutes, will be sure to get your heart rate up and have you sweatin’ by the end! I burned somewhere around 200 calories and ran a total distance of 1.72 miles.
If you are short on time and looking for a way to sneak in a sweat, I think this 20 minute routine would be a great workout to keep in your rotation.
Feel free to print, pin, or screenshot the image below to keep on hand for your next cardio session!
I also chose to tack on my Upper Body Circuit to complete afterwards, with a slight modification of using 12.5 lb dumbbells for all three rounds.
This took me just around 20 minutes to complete as well so I was able to get in and out of the gym in under an hour. Success!
The remainder of my evening will be spent on the couch while getting my fix of Christmas movies in before my first official day of work tomorrow. 🙂 I hope you have a great rest of your Monday!
